New Silver Grandmaster - Kate Terry!

Congratulations to Kate Terry who was recently promoted to "Sliver Grandmaster" on Monday 11 May.

This is a huge achievement. To qualify as a Silver Grandmaster you need 2,500 A or B points of which 1,250 must be A points. This is a daunting task, however Kate achieved this with finesse.

We are all very proud of Kate's bridge achievements. Congratulations Kate !

Message from our
Club President

Every year the Waikato-Bays Regional Committee selects players to represent the Waikato-Bays Region to play in the "Regional Championships Teams" event. There are four grades of players selected: Open, Women, Senior, and Intermediate.

Over the weekend NZ Bridge held the qualifying round for the Regional Championships. The winning two regions will play for the Regional Championship final at the National Congress in November.

Special congratulations to our Womens team (Jenna Gibbons & Christine Gibbons, Kate Terry & Judy Pawson) who came 1st !!!.

They will go forward to represent the Waikato-Bays Region at the finals in November.

All teams performed well making us all very proud of our Region.

Congratulations to you all!

- Mike Newtown

Message from our
Club Vice-President

Thanks to everyone who volunteers at the Club. Our afternoon tea roster is working superbly.

A reminder that the blue stools need stacking at the side of the room on Tuesday & Friday after play to facilitate a thorough vacuuming on Wednesday & Monday mornings.

Your participation is greatly appreciated.

- Karyl Anderson

Message from our
Club Captain

The annual charity tournament is coming up soon on Wednesday 8 July.

This tournament is a great opportunity to support a local chartiy while playing bridge.

This year's chartiy is Hato St John Ambulance. The tournament is sponsored by Cherrywood Shoes.

This tournament is a 8B restricted tournament, which means two open players cannot play together. Contact your partners and register here.
