Sunday session on again today, plus other upcoming events

We now have our Sunday supervised play sessions running every week to coincide with our new players finishing their lesson programme, that means today! It was wonderful to see eight of our new players getting stuck in last week and playing their first proper bridge session! As always, arrive 12:45 for a 1pm start, no partner required and there will be someone on hand to assist with your questions.

On the 30th of June at 7pm the Mount Club are running two skills sessions. One is aimed at beginners and covers declarer play techniques while the other is for more advanced players and covers bidding transfers. Cost is $6 for Mount members or $8 for visitors.

Our next Improvers Lesson is on the evening of the 8th of July and the topic is "D is for Discipline". Bridge is a partnership game and it's important that your partner can trust that your bids mostly show what they say they do! This topic explores the perils of bidding without discipline and the dangers you need to be looking out for when considering "going off script". Our Restricted Charity Pairs tournament is happening on Wednesday the 9th of July. It's a two session tournament starting at 10am. All proceeds go to Plunket so please do consider getting an entry together to support this worthy cause. As it is a Restricted event Open players cannot play together.
