Over the weekend NZ Bridge held the qualifying round for the Regional Championships. The winning two regions will play for the Regional Championship final at the National Congress in November. Congratulations to WAIKATO-BAYS "OPEN" TEAM (Barry Jones & Jenny Millinton, Liz Fisher & Blair Fisher) who came 4th.

They will go forward to represent the Waikato-Bays Region at the Finals in November.

Congratulations to WAIKATO-BAYS "INTERMEDIATE" TEAM (Catherine Cameron & Helen Rinaldi, Judith Howard & Nick Saunders) who came 5th. They also won 8 out of their 12 matches - a huge result !

Auckland held the Anzac Day Open Pairs 8B tournament on Saturday 25 April. Congratulations to Diana McAlister and Hugh McAlister who came 2nd.

Hamilton held a Restricted Pairs 8B tournament on Sunday 19 April. Congratulations to Cathy Parker and Kate Terry who came 11th.

Nelson held a Women's Pairs 8B tournament on Saturday 18 April. Congratulations to Rebecca Osborne and Jana Bott who came 8th.

Hamilton held a Multi Grade Pairs 5A tournament on Saturday 18 April. Congratulations to Heather Melville and Judy McLeod who came 5th overall. Also congratulations to: - Mark Wardell and Jo Craig who came 1st in the Junior/Junior section - Rose Van Der Velden and Mike Newtown who came 1st in the Open/Junior section

Due to Cyclone Vaiana, the Whakatane heat of the Bay Pairs was postponed to a date yet to be determined. Please watch the website for a rescheduled date.

Matamata held a 5A open swiss pairs tournament on Saturday. Congratulations to Judy Pawson and Kate Terry who came 4th.

Auckland are holding monthly 8B Restricted tournaments. These tournaments are on Thursdays ONLINE using RealBridge.

Auckland help their Easter Congress over the long weekend. The Auckland Easter Congress Teams qualifying was held on Sunday and the finals was held on Monday. Congratulations to Jenna Gibbons and Julian Foster and team mates who qualified for the final in a strong field.

NZ Bridge held a fundraiser tournament on Good Friday. All proceeds will be used to support the youth team trip to China in August. Congratulations to Kate Terry and Anne Somerville who came 7th.

The second round of the Waikato Bay Junior League was hosted by Cambridge on Saturday 28 March. Congratulations to Rebecca Barlett and Joanne Bruce who came 6th.

Two rounds out of six of the Waikato Bay Junior League have been played. Congratulations to Rebecca Bartlett & Joanne Bruce who are currently placed 11th.

The Rotorua held their annual Kelly Peirse Memorial Teams tournament on Saturday 21 March. This tournament attracts a strong field. Congratulations to: Raw Results: The "Gibbons" Team: Christine Gibbons & Jenna Gibbons, Judy McLeod & Judy Pawson who came 5th and Handicap Result: The "Roberts" Team: Colin Roberts & Simon Eminson, Carolyn Parker & Nick Comber who came 3rd on handicap,. Modified Butler: Judy McLeod & Judy Pawson were 3rd on the Butler! Well done everyone!

The Hamilton Intermediate 5B Pairs was held on Saturday. Congratulations to Cathy Parker and Liz Swanston came 10th. This tournament is the 2nd of the Intermediate League series of tournaments.
