THE KAREN MARTELLETTI 50^TH BOSTON CUP
This was held last Monday . It was a wonderful night with the PRETTY IN PINK team (Kate Terry, Judy Pawson, Judy McLeod, Christine Gibbons and Super-Sub Pat Ware – with honourable mention to Pam Bell)  taking out the top prize with the REAL HOUSEWIVES OF TAURANGA ( Stacey Hilton, Shirley Bain, Jo Simpson and Rachelle Pelkman – and Super-sub Raewyn de Cleene) coming a close second. Third was SNAGS ( Ron Scott, Hugh McAlister, Tony Hacking and Ranald Ducat)  aka Sensitive New Age Guys.

There were many funny and clever entries

Special mention goes to the noisy SPECTATORS ( Ruth Sweatman, Sue Handley, Noeline Buchanan and Janet Young) who made their presence known at every opportunity. They were particularly loud and intrusive when they won the handicapped section.

The Scottish clan BRAVEHEARTS (Ronnie Ryan, Jenny Lynam, Keryn O’Brien and Hilary McKenna) complete with face paint , the Ryan tartan, sword, and crown were brilliant fierce warriors.

The RED FOR DANGER  team proved to be a tad risqué when one team member, a ‘lady of the night‘ (dressed in red) was offered a $100 note (also red) by a member of the  SNAGS team for ‘services’.

Who could forget  THE NEWTON WANDERERS soccer team? Their leader was reportedly playing badminton in Rarotonga but the remaining members enthusiastically led by Simon Eminson did a an impressive ‘knees up’ circuit in their soccer gear.

The MALAPROPS team sent everyone to their dictionary figuring out what it meant but their witty signage made it very clear !
